Wednesday Workshops with Albero & Fernanda

We are very excited to see you all soon! We are going to stay in Calgary for 6 weeks and will offer many different classes in different places.
On Wednesdays, we are going to offer workshops for 6 weeks, specifically for couples. The workshops will be held at the Beso de Tango studio (in Kelvin Grove), which is best suited to small groups.
Please let us know if you have interest in the Wednesday workshops as soon as possible so we can book your spot.

Dance Philosophy

With a good foundation and strong understanding of the fundamentals, it is easier to absorb, retain, grow and understand new steps and especially to be able to improvise after our program. Wednesday, March 14th

Class 1 — 7 pm (60 minutes)
Practicing Tango Elements
Exercises to improve balance, speed and build muscle memory. Posture, change of weight, balance, embrace, walking forward / backward, inside & outside, (using disassociation) connecting.
Musicality, changes of speed, dynamics, savour the pause, enjoy rhythm and syncopation.
Turns/rotations and counter-rotation, pivoting technique for the leader, techniques for both roles, lapiz and enrosques.
Class 2 – 8 pm (60 minutes)
Posture, embrace and walking, sacadas and barridas in different ways. How do you find the balance between connection and your independence as a tanguero / tanguera. Explore connection and independence. Turns with sacadas.
Practica (30 minutes)

Class 1 — 7 pm (60 minutes)
Practicing Tango Elements
Exercises to improve balance, speed and build muscle memory. Posture, change of weight, balance, embrace, walking forward / backward, inside & outside, (using disassociation) connecting.
Musicality, changes of speed, dynamics, savour the pause, enjoy rhythm and syncopation.
Turns / rotations and counter-rotation, pivoting technique for the leader, techniques for both roles, lapiz and enrosques.
Class 2 – 8 pm (60 minutes)
Vals : cadence and fluidity in chains. Different chains. Enrosques and different elements to turn
Practica (30 minutes)


Wednesday, March 28th

Class 1 — 7 pm (60 minutes)
Practicing Tango Elements
Exercises to improve balance, speed and build muscle memory. Posture, change of weight, balance, embrace, walking forward / backward, inside & outside, (using disassociation) connecting.Musicality, changes of speed, dynamics, savour the pause, enjoy rhythm and syncopation.Turns / rotations and counter-rotation, pivoting technique for the leader, techniques for both roles, lapiz and enrosques.
Class 2 – 8 pm (60 minutes)
Short sequences in combination using different elements.
Music and walking. Easy turns in small spaces.
Practica (30 minutes)


Wednesday, April 4th

Class 1 — 7 pm (60 minutes)
Milonga class (with Lisa)
Fundamentals, musicality, fun combinations using all previous figures. Adding turns.
Class 2 – 8 pm (60 minutes)
Milonga class (with Traspie)
Fundamentals, musicality, specific combinations for syncopated variation.
Practica ( 30 minutes )


Wednesday, April 11th

Class 1 — 7 pm (60 minutes)
Practicing Tango Elements
Exercises to improve balance, speed and build muscle memory.
Posture, change of weight, balance, embrace, walking forward / backward, inside & outside, (using disassociation) connecting.
Musicality, changes of speed, dynamics, savour the pause, enjoy rhythm and syncopation.
Turns / rotations and counter-rotation, pivoting technique for the leader, techniques for both roles, lapiz and enrosques.
Class 2 – 8 pm (60 minutes)
Tango salon style class 1 . Harmony and connection in the couple. Close embrace and vertical axis. Techniques of circular, linear and traditional walking.
Practica (30 minutes)

Posture, change of weight, balance, embrace, walking forward / backwards, inside & outside, (using disassociation) connecting.
